Doodle Nation

I can't even explain how I am in summer school... it's like normal school on steroids (as far as attention span goes).

I.CANNOT.LISTEN.

My notebook is at least 75% doodles and cursive (what a pointless skill we were forced to master in elementary school)

Obviously my doodles aren't as artistic as the pictures I posted.. but you get the picture.

Baby, you're a firework

Last Night was by far the best night of the summer! Meg, Kat, and I went to the Katy Perry conert.

Let's just say that woman is beautiful and has an amaaazing voice! Meg and I had the talented Adrianne do our make up. If only we were capable of doing our make up how she does ours haha!

We danced and sung our little hearts out last night.

To say the least, I'm still on a Katy Perry high!

Lake Blanche Adventure

Mins and I thought it would be a genius idea to go hiking last Thursday. We weren't really familiar with the whole hiking scene in Utah so we asked around. Uhhh... yeah.. our "mountaineer" told us to hike up to Lake Blanche, which is in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Okay... that hike was death for beginners.
It was straight uphill THE.WHOLE.WAY.

Mins and I struggled. The hike was 6 miles round trip so we were determinted to finish. Of course, it started raining when we were about 45 minutes from the top. It felt nice at first until we got closer to the top and it started raining harder and then the wind chill kicked it.

We didn't really get to enjoy the lake because it was absolutely freezing. We took some pictures and basically ran back down the mountain.

Let's just say I hate nature, bugs, and snow more than I did on Wednesday night.

Still on the way up.
Lake Killmyself
Nice & toasty.
The homemade turban/ihome
On our way back down.

I wasn't as sore as I thought I would be the next morning, but my ass and calves struggled for a few days.

4th of July Weekend

Hi strangers! Once again, I disappeared for a bit! My bad.

The 4th of July weekend has always been one of my favorite weekends! This year, I wasn't disappointed.

It started off on Saturday at the Salt Lake Bar Crawl that my internship has put on for the past three years. I went in early to help regulate the crowds with Minya and then we went on the 8:00 group. Meg took a break from being a study bug and came and joined us! I met a crew of new people, reunited with some old, and had fun with the current.

Sunday morning my mom, Phil, and I all headed up to Park City for all of their festivities. We grabbed some lunch at The Wasatch Brewery on Main Street, shopped at the cute boutiques, and went to the Farmer's Market. After we were burnt out from the Main Street madness, we went swimming at our hotel. My mom was a little bit disappointed (I was too) because the pool at our hotel was deceiving.. it was kind of indoor and kind of outdoor... there was a cover over the roof that was clear.. so it was humid and everything echoed. We ran into a bit of a minor car emergency with Heston after the pool and had to come back down to Salt Lake.

My mom and I went back to Park City and went to The Canyons (along with the rest of Utah). It was pure insanity! Way too many people for that small of an area. We made the best of it and beat the traffic out of there after fireworks.

The 4th was our last day in Park City, so we went to lunch on Main Street again and just roamed around and went shopping at the outlets afterwards.

Monday night Minya and I went to my aunt's for dinner. Everyone was decked out in their 4th of July gear (Addy had on the cutest red cowgirl boots!)

Later, Mins and I met up with Justin, Matt, and Ashley and we went to the Sugarhouse fireworks with everyone. It was packed, but they always have the best fireworks.

Overall, it was a fun weekend in Small Lake City! Hope everyone had a fun 4th :)

Generation FB

Clearly, this generation fully depends on social media, texting, and blogging. My mom has always said she didn't want a facebook because she didn't want to share her life story to the world. But, she hates when I call her from Arizona ranting about cute new Addy pictures. So, last night we set her up a facebook... I just about died. The fb lingo confused her and brought me to tears of laughter.

Me: "Well yeah, it should be on your newsfeed."
Mom: "Oh yeah, my newsfeed.. obviously."

Me: "Yeah, it would be easier if you were just tagged."
Mom: "Tagged? What the hell is tagged? Do I need to invite someone to tag me? Should they like me? I'm available to be tagged."

I am not kidding you, I was crying... full blown tears were streaming down my face.

TODAY...

Me: "Mom, have you looked at your wall today? People have posted on it."
Mom: "Oh really? Okay! I'll check it."

(10 minutes later my phone rings...)

Mom: "Wait, how do I look at my wall."

Made my day!

Team BRO

So, I tend to be a guys' girl when I'm home.. meaning I would most definitely rather hang out with my guy friends over girls (no offense, ladies :)). Some people think this is beyond weird... but, you don't know salt lake city girl drama. Why do I prefer to bro out?

- This is what I deal with on the reg... Well, person A dated my ex boyfriend in 9th grade and I don't like person B because she wore the same outfit I wore on Friday. OH! and person C totes did drugs in high school, so I don't like her either. But, person B doesn't like person A because she's "sketch".

OKAY, obviously this is a little exaggerated.. BUT NOT BY A LOT! I love all my gal pals here, but holy shit people, we are 21 years old. Let's grow up? It's nearly impossible to go out without some girl hating another girl that is going to be at the same place.

I'd much rather hang out with dudes who can fight out their problems and then immediately be homies.

- Guys don't reminisce about my past ALLLLLLL DAY. Yeah, I've dated people. I don't need to talk about them every second of every day. We grow up and people change. End of story.

- My boys are just my favorite! They just go with it.. no set plan.. doesn't matter what outfit you wear, or "OMG I can't wear that because so-and-so saw me wear that a month ago." (like "he" will remember!)

I love all my girls, but wow.. they are difficult about 95% of the time.
